Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif says that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is made for people like Amir Liaquat and we are thankful that he did not join the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Addressing the media outside the accountability court on Tuesday, Nawaz said that references have not yielded anything yet.
“The past reference was covered in the new reference. What was the need of registering a new reference when nothing could be found out from the first reference? When nothing could be found this year, so, how would anything surface in these one and a half months?” he questioned on extending the case deadlines.
Nawaz further added that the cases which bring loss to national exchequer are not being heard.
During the talk, a journalist questioned about Amir Liaquat’s decision of joining the party so Nawaz Sharif smiled and said that we are thankful to Allah that he did not join PML-N.
“He had tried to join the party couple of years back but did not join. PTI has been formed for people like Amir Liaquat. PTI deserves people like Amir Liaquat,” he added. Nawaz however, chose to remain silent on PML-N leader Chaudhary Nisar and said, “I believe he should fulfill the purpose for which he has come.”
Nawaz said that he doesn’t expect anything from anyone. “What complain can one make when he does not expect. It has been a common practice. And Musharraf’s return to the country is a joke”.
Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal also tweeted on the matter.
